On this one day workshop, you will learn how to take full control of studio lighting. Be able to visualize your shot and know how to capture it with the use of different lighting set-ups. The new techniques you will learn, will give you confidence and get great results. An introduction to the key techniques of studio lighting. This course is aimed at newcomers and beginners to studio mains flash photography.

 What will be covered on this workshop:


• Why Studio Flash
• Key Flash controls explained 
• Setting up the camera - sync speed, white balance and exposure mode
• The background - what to use and how to light it
• Flash Meter - do you need one?
• Reflectors - technique advice 
• Lighting a portrait using one head
• Lighting a portrait using multiple heads
• Using lighting modifiers (brollies, soft boxes, beauty dish lighting ratios)


It will be a practical day so learners should bring their DSLR cameras and any lens you have. There will be the opportunity to take pictures with the various set-ups, and a model will be provided. Please note: Due to the vast range of camera makes and models, it is impossible for the tutor to know all aspects of all cameras. Therefore it is imperative that you bring with you the manual for your specific camera for the tutor to refer to, if required.*
