On this one day workshop, you will learn how to take full control of your camera. Be able to visualize your shot and know how to capture it. The new techniques you will learn, will give you confidence and get great results.

What will be covered on this workshop:

• Camera settings
• Metering system
• ISO Settings
• Shutter speeds
• Aperture
• White balance
• Focus and Depth of Field
• Histogram levels

Getting to know your camera and its settings.

We will cover basic camera functions, to help you understand your camera and take better photos with it. Other areas we will cover to help you with are: exposure, use of light, composition, use of accessories, tripods, filters and lenses, and understanding white balance. All that you need to begin this digital SLR workshop is: a camera, and the time and commitment to learn new photography skills.

You do not need top of the range equipment; in fact some great pictures are taken with digital compact cameras.

We can show you quite a lot throughout this 3 day course, some information may take time to comprehend fully – but practice will soon make you more confident and give you much better pictures. Techniques can be learnt by referring to these basic notes in conjunction with your camera’s handbook, but we also hope to help you to ‘look’ and see where better pictures might be taken.

Please note: Due to the vast range of camera makes and models, it is impossible for the tutor to know all aspects of all cameras. Therefore, as this is a generic digital camera course it is imperative that you bring with you the manual for your specific camera for the tutor to refer to, if required.*

Course notes will be provided at the end of the course.
